El El Frijoles
El El Frijoles, located in the village of Sargentville – in Maine’s Acadia region, on the mainland near Deer Isle – offers what the Portland Press Herald describes as “honest food, expertly prepared in all instances, in an atmosphere that verges on joyful.” Operated by a husband and wife team and supported by a rotating, diverse cast of culinary zealots brings hand-made, farm-to-table food to the people – all from their little barn in the Maine woods. They are committed to wholesome fare made with the very best ingredients, sourced with an eye to ecology and community. And that sense of community has brought them to the FEED KIDS movement committing 100% of the proceeds from each order of “House Salsa” to help end child hunger in Maine. Stop in this summer. They’re open all week serving up delicious riffs on Bay Area/Mexican street food made with real, local ingredients. In the Winter, make plans for El El Frijoles monthly Supper Club dinners and enjoy five courses of varied, unusual, and awesome food!
