Bao Bao 包宝
BaoBao (包宝) in Chinese translates to “wrapped treasure”, or in BaoBao’s case, dumplings (jiaozi 饺子). They offer Asian inspired comfort food, designed to satisfy both the midnight foodie, or discerning dinner diner. BaoBao is the second restaurant from award-winning Executive Chef Cara Stadler and her mother, Cecile. It was inspired by a childhood of sitting around the kitchen table bao’ing dumplings; as well as the many jiaozi guans they frequented in China. The idea was to provide a place where diners can come in for a snack or full meal, any time of day, and always have something delicious to eat. Open five days a week from 11:30 am until late. The Maine community and our children are deeply important to Chef Stadler and the staff of BaoBoa which inspired them to join the FEED KIDS movement. They invite you to stop in soon and encourage all guest to finish their meal with something sweet. Each dessert ordered helps connect Maine kids with the meals they need to thrive.
Cara Stadler is a four time nominated James Beard Rising Star Chef and Food and Wine Best New Chef 2014. She trained internationally under Guy Savoy and Gordon Ramsay then traveled and worked in China and Singapore for four years. Her food is a culmination of her travels, heavily influenced by Asian flavors, French technique, and Maine’s local produce.
